Loft above Luke's, Saturday morning

Priestly was sleeping in, today, thank you very much. Unless his housemate woke him up to demand breakfast, he wasn't planning on being up until well into the afternoon. He'd woken up long enough to note that he wasn't feeling crazy horny for the first time in a week and decided that that deserved a nice, long morning off from doing anything remotely adult-like or responsible.

The plan was doomed, but he didn't know that yet. The couch was comfortable, Dean was running the diner, Momoko was . . . doing whatever she was doing this morning, and all was right with the world.

"That's my pop," Jane agreed. "I don't have to share him with anybody, either."

Well, she didn't before a bunch of cousins showed up, anyway.

"I don't gots a daddy," Lasumi said matter-of-factly. "I gots two mommies and one Sin and a Aunt Helna and a Aunt Barbra and a Alfred and a Aunt Karla and a Uncle Priestly who makes us foooood." He inhaled. "And lots and lots of super-peoples who come stay sometimes and they beat up bad guys! I'mma do that too!"

Careful there, kid, please don't fall off the chair in your punching of bad-guys enthusiasm.

Awww, he wanted to be a superhero. Kids that age could be cute like that.

"Sounds like a plan, man. I've only got one mom, but I've got a whoooole bunch of aunts and uncles. We run a sandwich shop."

The superhealing and extra-strength didn't help convince him he couldn't, either. Dinah so deserved this kid.

"Nummy! Do you make sanwiches with ... strawberries?" Lasumi beamed at her. "Do you make 'em wiiiith mustard? An' hot sauce?"

"Not all at the same time," Jane said. "That'd be gross."

"Noooo, yummy." Lasumi shook his head emphatically. "Can I have more food please? Miss... Uh-oh. I dun know your name."

"Jane. Just Jane. No 'miss'."

"Just Jane can I have some more food pleeeeeaze." Lasumi gave her the big eyes. "I know a song with your name. That's not my name!" He shouted suddenly. "I can make food?" Stop him!

Jane reached out to block him from heading for the counter or the fridge. "Hold up. No prepping food without at least watching the training video."

That was the policy at Beach City, anyway.

"Yay videos!" Lasumi cheered. He grinned at her. "You are the best prettiest babysitter. I like you."

"Are you a girlfriend?" Lasumi grinned at her, giggling. "Are you a ... supergirl?!"

"I'm a Jane," she said simply. "It's better than all of those."
