It was a typical day at the Beach City Grill. Trucker made moon eyes at Zo from afar and talked about surfing, Jen split her time between doing actual work and talking to her online BFF, Tish convinced all the attractive young male customers that she was innocent and in search of a sexual awakening, and Priestly made moon eyes at her from afar -- when he wasn't rolling them at her antics.
Then his phone beeped, and he pulled it out, and broke the casual cheerful quiet with a very loud "holy crap, Dinah's hot!"
Suddenly, everyone was crowded around the counter and Priestly's phone as he showed off his best friend looking all modelled out for some kind of photoshoot, Jen admiring her hair style, Trucker commenting on the socially dictated concepts of beauty represented in the images, and Tish tilting her head and commenting on the lighting and make up work.
"Congrats, Priestly," she said, elbowing him in the ribs. "Your girlfriend's a hottie." Priestly blinked, then snorted, then ended up doubled over, laughing. Jen snickered along and Trucker shook his head. Tish looked between them all. "What? What'd I say?"
It was, oddly enough, Mr. Julius who managed to fill her in. Tish looked grumpily around at her laughing coworkers. "It's not that funny. He talks like she's his girlfriend."
Jen fell off her stool.
