Priestly blinked sleepily for a moment, then sat bolt upright on the couch.

Oh yeah, Prom had been last night, hadn't it?

He stumbled over to the door, taking a moment to make sure he'd slept in at least pants last night (yep, pants and even a shirt this time. It said "no one knows I'm a lesbian", so not the most appropriate outfit for daughter-greeting), then swung it open.
