"Okay," Mark said, sipping his beer. "But she's not your girlfriend?"
Priestly shook his head. "How is this so hard for people to understand?" he asked Tia. She shrugged, smirking.
"So she's available?" Mark asked.
"Don't rebound with a girl, Mark," Tia said. "You should date a guy, next."
Mark sighed and went back to sipping his beer.

4/9/14 02:29 (UTC)"Sentience," Mark said, shaking his head. "Hippie drag queen. That's a new one for me."
"I do like to be different," Priestly agreed, hugging Dinah back tight. "Hey you."

4/9/14 02:34 (UTC)She finally put the bag down but kept on arm around Priestly's shoulders. "You haven't gone out singing without me since then, have you? 'Cause I want to see Sentience in person." She grinned at Mark and Tia. "The most I've seen him do before was karaoke. And the occasional drunken belting."

4/9/14 02:44 (UTC)"Who kept buying me fruity rum drinks?" Priestly asked, sticking his tongue out at her.
"I've already told them they're not allowed to go again without me," Mark said. "I'm amazed Tia managed to find someone even weirder than her."
"Group date," Tia said. "Next Thursday. It's a plan."

4/9/14 03:05 (UTC)"Priestly, your friend's invited over every day," Tia said.
"Even the Sabbath," Mark said.
"Ignore every word out of Mark's mouth, Dinah. Especially anything that makes him sound at all religious or moral."

4/9/14 03:30 (UTC)"Religious studies," said Mark.
"This week," said Priestly. "Mark is a perpetual major changer. Right now, he's pretending to be Jewish."
"Not pretending," Mark said. "I was bar mitzvahed."
"At a kegger," Priestly said. "By a Buddhist. Two weeks ago."

4/9/14 03:37 (UTC)"It's more of a Christmas and Easter thing," Mark said, completely deadpan. Tia smacked him upside the head.
Oh yeah, this living arrangement was SURE to be a good influence on Priestly.

4/9/14 03:52 (UTC)Package delivery!
4/9/14 04:31 (UTC)Heeeey Priestly! You remember how Momoko once
threatenedpromised to take you shopping? She was still gonna do that, but for now she was sending you some things to get you started! In a TOTALLY Priestly messenger bag that Momoko couldn't resist when she saw it, were things like cool notebooks, some erasers just in case he made any errors or mistakes when taking notes. There was also a pencil sharpener to sharpen his awesome new eco-friendly pencils! Although probably pens might be more to Priestly's preference.
To make the most important notes stand out, Momoko had also sent her friend some highlighters, and there were lots of folders so he could organize things.
...
Also a second bag... this one a New Gotham survival bag, though it could probably be passed off as a gag gift by normal (non have-been-kidnapped-by-question-mark-villain) people. It was filled with a mini gas mask, a domino mask, leather gloves, mace, a swiss army knife, some potions (clearly labeled), a stake, a slingshot, bandages, a manual flashlight, an emergency drop-phone with Blossom and Canary and Huntress on speed-dial, a few maps (with areas marked off to avoid), some restaurant guides (with notes!), some hardcandy, and a few other things that proved Fandom raised Momoko right and that Priestly was definitely sure to know how to use.
There was also a small emergency ID bracelet... that said "if found, please return to Dinah Lance".

4/9/14 04:32 (UTC)"Yes, my interest is mostly local," she said. "But come on, Dinah, you've lived here awhile, right? There is so much about this city that's crazy, and so much more that people say that's even crazier. I want to compare the sorts of stories you get in a city like New Gotham, full of freaks and weirdos -- and then there's the supervillains -- and a place like Star City, which is only just barely getting into the superhero business."
"She can be at this all night," Priestly said. "I mean that literally. I accidentally fell asleep during it my first night here and when I woke up two hours later, she was still going."
Tia scowled and crossed her arms, though she couldn't keep the angry facade up long. "You don't get a masters in something you're not passionate about."
Re: Package delivery!
4/9/14 04:37 (UTC)"Momoko's insane," he said. Because this was news, clearly.
He was also grinning ear to ear, soooo.

4/9/14 04:42 (UTC)Priestly caught Dinah's eye and shrugged, giving her a I'll tell you later head tilt. Tia, he'd learned, was just a touch -- well -- touchy about Batman.
"Priestly got kidnapped by the Riddler?" Mark asked. "Dude, what haven't you done?"

4/9/14 04:49 (UTC)"I think he hasn't done..." Dinah paused. "Nope, he did that too... let's see...." She tapped her fingers on her lips, grinning.

4/9/14 04:55 (UTC)"You know I'm going to want to interview about that now, right?" Tia asked. "I mean, I knew you visited here before, but now I know you were in the middle of things."
"A middle. I was in a middle of one thing that one time." A beat. "And maybe a few other middles some other times."
