OOC: The commissioner turned on the info-post signal! Quick, to the bandwagon!
Info for those boys with one name:
This is Priestly. He's from Ten Inch Hero, which is a fluffy little indie rom-com about young adults working at a sandwich shop in Santa Cruz. He's a punk. But he's a punk in that happy-go-lucky, anarchy-is-about-love-not-violence, my-role-models-are-actually-hippies kind of way. But with a mohawk and strong beliefs regarding the tyranny of various governmental systems and the power of the people. His best friends are a super-hero-in-training and a happy-go-lucky formerly cartoon prince, he works at Luke's, where he's got a long standing feud going on with the kitchen staff, he does theater, has started a new hat business with Irulan, is a little bit of a smart ass, but otherwise, he's a pretty nice guy.
Just don't start talking to him about politics -- unless you want him to go on and on in a slightly uneducated way about "the Establishment" -- or assassinations -- unless you wanna hear about that island in the Bermuda Triangle where celebs go after they've faked their deaths so they can enjoy some peace and quiet.
He'll gladly make you a sandwich either way, though. He already provides them for at least a couple extracurriculars.
And lastly, I'm drawing ever closer to him actually attempting to start an anarchist roller derby league in Fandom. Come on, you know you wanna join up!
This is Castiel. He's an angel, from After-Elton's favorite crazy CW genre show starring two hot brothers who are hot for each other?, Supernatural. He's a little bit more complicated. For ease of, well, my typing fingers, I've got a handy list of his powers and weaknesses drawn up here. He will never, ever use any of those abilities on your character without your express permission. To date, he's only really done more than showing off his wings or letting Jimmy, his vessel, out to play once, and that was to put Vince Noir to sleep to get him to shut up about God not loving his hair.
Many of Castiel's conversations turn to religion. It's just kind of who he is. He's getting better at talking about other things, though, so if you're up for Cass-interaction and don't wanna go into any religious stuff, just let me know. Otherwise, I'll just kinda let the conversation go where it pleases.
Castiel gives a weekly sermon on Thursdays, usually on some topic which has struck his fancy over the course of the week. These are not your typical sermons. He has no priestly training, or, really, any qualifications as a religious leader at all other than the fact that he's an angel. They're very opinionated without, at times, actually forming any sort of opinion, and they're likely to raise far more questions than they answer. If asked, he'll tell you that's because he wants you to think for yourself and exercise your free will, since you have free will, you lucky bastard -- anyway. He's always available for characters who want to talk, and the church, Our Lady of Fandom, is open 24/7 -- but if you want Castiel interaction, I do ask that you give me a heads up, as I can't be available 24/7, but can often work with preplays or slowplay or whathaveyou. The rest of Castiel's week is often spent wandering around town and into random shop posts to learn the lay of the land and see what the island has to offer -- and see if he can find out why it works the way it does. (fun fact: he will never actually find out.)
And as a last fun note, I'm thinking about bringing in the fun meta canon crack of the Supernatural novels referenced in the show. Cass is canonically a big fan. And he now has a computer. I think he totally needs to be a SPN fanboy fic writer. Maybe even -- *gasp* -- a BNF!
And the girl with many names:
Hi! I'm Bella, aka Iz, (formerly) aka Nadia, aka . . . well, I'm open to nicknaming, let's leave it at that. I'm a 28 year old east coaster with two jobs, one of which allows me to be online just about all the time (assuming I'm not trying to muddle through, say, the federal budget), the other of which doesn't let me anywhere near a computer for as much as 11-12 hours on end. I'm primarily about in the afternoons/early evenings on weekdays, when I'm stuck at a desk. After around 7 pm EST, I'm more likely to be in and out as I drive home, run errands, and make little critters out of socks, and weekends are usually spent at the grocery store doing shifts or sleeping, but I try to get on for big events. When I'm not at the weekend job, I'm usually available by email at bellatemple (at) gmail (dot) com -- I'm sometimes on AIM in the evenings/weekends as "NotISaidDuck" -- and I'm pretty easy going, so feel free to shoot me an email if you've got something to say or ask. For serious.
