Priestly checked his reflection in his jeep's review mirror one more time. Clean pants, no holes: check. Button down shirt (with the sleeves torn out): check. Plain, inoffensive t-shirt (black, nice contrast to the red button down): check. Facial hair: trimmed. Eyeliner: straight and unsmudged. Hair: swept back into a high, short pony tail with a slightly emo-bangish bit going on in front, died dark, almost subtle purple.
"I don't know," he said, tugging on the swoopy bang before shooting a glance at Dinah in the passenger seat. "Maybe I should change my shirt again."
[ooc: for the permissably modded Dinah in Santa Cruz, or others via phone.]

11/3/12 02:06 (UTC)"What can I get you?" Tish looked up to take his order, then gave him a once over and a small smirk. "Well, look at you, all snazzy."
Priestly smiled back, a little less subconscious, and cleared his throat. "Ms. Matheson," he said, all formal. Tish held up a hand.
"Hold it." Priestly opened his mouth to protest as Tish leaned over the counter. "I think we both know what you're going to ask. But I think there's one thing that we need to clear up, first."
Priestly stared, then shot a slightly despairing look at Dinah, and over to where Jen and Trucker sat, and Piper stood in front of her mural in progress. "Um, okay. What?"
"What's your first name?"
Son of a bitch.

11/3/12 02:31 (UTC)"Oh come on. I bought new pants and everything!"
"Spill it."
Priestly heaved a sigh. "Boaz."
Tish huffed a small laugh. "What was that?"
"Boaz, alright?" Priestly said at full volume. "My name's Boaz."
Behind him, Jen and Piper both shot Dinah wide eyed, giggly looks, mouthing Boaz?!

11/3/12 02:38 (UTC)She sent Tish a pleading look not to laugh. Even if that was everybody's first impulse.

11/3/12 02:46 (UTC)"Uh." Priestly glanced over at the others again, then leaned over. "Sure."
"Tish? Is short for 'Platisha'."
And it was Priestly's time to smirk. "Platisha. That's a good one." The tension was, indeed, well and truly broken, now.
"Now." Tish smiled. "Would you like to take me to dinner sometime?"
Priestly grinned. "It would be my honor." He started circling the counter, reaching for an apron. "Oh, there's something you should know first, Platisha. You see, when I'm with a girl, I've never --"
Tish pressed a finger to his mouth. "Don't try it." Then she followed it up with a kiss.

11/3/12 02:50 (UTC)Dinah shrieked-- not enough to bring down the diner, thankfully-- and hugged Jen, dancing around. "FINALLY!" Wooooooo!

11/3/12 02:54 (UTC)"Would you look at that?" Priestly said. "We already have a fanbase."
"I think they're just glad you're finally going to get laid."
"Well, I didn't want to assume --"
"Yes, Boaz," she said. "You're really probably going to get laid."

11/3/12 03:21 (UTC)Way to get her hopes up, Dinah.
"Hey, Jen, can we get the webcam up and running? I want Karla to see everything and everyone here." She grinned over at Piper.

11/3/12 03:32 (UTC)Jen looked at Trucker, who shrugged. "Sure," he said. "We're not going to get a whole lot of work done today, anyway."
Jen grinned and hopped up. "Great! I'd like to meet more of your friends." She went over to the computer and opened the video chat program. "Tell her to message ladybuggger. Three g's."
Piper hopped down from her stool and came over, too, wiping a bit of paint from her hand onto her forehead.

11/3/12 03:38 (UTC)Like, say, Priestly?
And of course she was messaging that account. She was hoping that maybe she'd get a video of, say, people kissing. Specific people.
PEOPLE SHE WAS SHIPPING, FOR EXAMPLE.

11/3/12 03:39 (UTC)Keep hoping, Karla.

11/3/12 03:42 (UTC)"What?" Piper asked. "Let me see!" She squeezed around the counter, stepping up between Tish and Priestly to peer over Jen's shoulder. "Oh my gosh."
"Yep," Priestly said, rather proudly. "And now you see why I was weirded out."

11/3/12 03:51 (UTC)"Hi!" Karla said, waving at Priestly's friends. "I'm--"
And then Piper's face moved onto her screen. And Karla was just going to gape. Had she been saying something? Because she had no idea.
"Hell's fire, Mother Night, and may the Darkness have mercy."
